Course Title Fundamentals of Maintenance

Description Introduces skills and knowledge required by all service technicians including: precision measurement, environmental and safety regulation compliance; safety and personal protection equipment, fastener identification; hand and power tool identification, use and safety; lifting and blocking, torque wrench use; tapping, threading and thread inserts. Students demonstrate the ability to follow written instruction, complete business forms, and perform basic math skills. Includes a review of the student rights and responsibilities. Prerequisite: RDG 099 and ENGL 099 and either MATH 050 or 084 with a grade of 2.0 or better, or MATH 084 with a grade of P if taken before spring 2016, or satisfactory placement test score.
