This theory course is the first course in the second year of the associate degree curriculum. Learning experiences are directed toward expanding the student's knowledge of nursing care of individuals experiencing alterations in health. Emphasis is on application of the nursing process in delivery of care to children and families, clients with mental health problems, and those with respiratory and immunological disorders. Concepts of evaluation of nursing research will be introduced. Prerequisite: NRS 103 and 131/133 or advanced placement standing with an active LPN license. Continuation in the Nursing program requires a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA in all nursing courses and a 2.0 or better in all supporting courses.
