Examines the nature of inquiry, basic research concepts, language, and processes. Content in process focuses on how research contributes to the development of nursing knowledge, improves nursing practice, and enhances professional development and professional accountability. Qualitative and quantitative research methods are compared and are analyzed to enhance understanding of the research process. Legal and ethical issues are explored. Students utilize evidence based practice to guide decision-making in nursing practice. Prerequisite: acceptance into the RN-BSN program.
